Don’t Get Duped: 70% of Avocado Oil Is Fake or Rancid

Share

Americans are getting ripped off again, and this time it’s in the health food aisle. New research from UC Davis shows that a shocking 70% of avocado oil sold in stores is either rancid or mixed with cheap oils like soybean oil. Some bottles labeled as pure avocado oil contain almost no avocado oil at all.

This is what happens when our government fails to protect hardworking families from corporate greed. The FDA has no official standards for avocado oil, leaving the door wide open for companies to deceive consumers. While families pay premium prices for healthy oil, they’re getting garbage that could harm their health instead.

The fraud is everywhere and it’s getting worse. Scientists tested 36 different avocado oil products and found that only 31% were actually pure. The rest were either spoiled before their expiration date or mixed with cheaper oils to boost profits.

Big corporations are laughing all the way to the bank while American families get poisoned. Some of these fake oils were almost 100% soybean oil, yet they were sold as premium avocado oil. This is theft, plain and simple, and it shows how little these companies care about our health.

The cheaper the oil, the more likely it is to be fake, according to the research. Companies are targeting budget-conscious families who are trying to eat healthy but can’t afford the most expensive brands. These families deserve better than being scammed by greedy corporations.

Our food system is broken when honest Americans can’t trust what they’re buying for their children. This avocado oil scandal proves that big business will lie about anything to make a quick buck. Where is the accountability for these companies that are poisoning our families?

The solution isn’t more government bureaucrats, but real consequences for corporate liars. Companies caught selling fake food should face massive fines and criminal charges. American families work too hard to be cheated by dishonest corporations that put profits over people’s health.

Until we get tough on food fraud, families need to protect themselves. Buy from trusted American companies, avoid the cheapest options, and demand clear labeling with harvest dates. We can’t rely on Washington to protect us, so we must protect ourselves from these corporate predators.
